I’m pretty sure if you’d asked me in 1985 what 40 was going to look like, I would have thought this:

And in an age of no sunscreen, no cosmetics, hard labor, and a dozen or more children, that’s probably what it would have been like.  (Who knows, the lady in the photo is probably 32.)

But I’m so glad it was this:

I couldn’t be more thankful for all the friends and family who helped celebrate my milestone birthday.  It’s always humbling the be the recipient of so much demonstrated love.

May we all experience such care — a reflection of our Father’s goodness — at least once in our lives!
