Love the Elf? Hate the Elf? Can’t find the Elf….?
Regardless of your preferences, it looks like our friend in the red bodysuit is officially established as one of America’s greatest Christmas traditions.
For many reasons, our household remained Elfless for as long as possible…. (we do not like the idea of our children being “watched,” we celebrate Jesus instead of Santa, etc.)
And personally, I do not readily embrace any creature, real or imaginary, who might be tempted to scatter powdered sugar around my kitchen.
But if your child comes home wondering why he or she is the.only.one. the Elf does not visit, it may be time to make a game plan.
Below I’ve listed 24 service-oriented ideas to help you redeem this pesky elven tradition, incorporate some character education, and get a few chores checked off along the way. When your cherubs see how giving and helpful your Elf is, they might just be motivated to get in on the action.
- Make the bed
- Make a treat for the church/school custodian

Praying this helps you capture more of the true Reason for the Season.
Happy Elfing……
